This teaching acitivty has been designed to provide an overview of some of the most common areas encountered by practicing surgical pathologists, including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary/pancreatic, breast, genitourinary, and gynecologic pathology. The course provides an extensive overview of some of the most important diagnostic features which allow pathologists to make accurate diagnoses in each of these subspecialized areas, as well as how to assess essential diagnostic clues and avoid misdiagnoses. In each lecture, is a thorough discussion on the use of ancillary diagnostic techniques, including immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostics.
