This dynamic educational workshop focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of plasma cell malignancies, exploring both current practices and opportunities for improvement. The program features a blend of lectures and interactive roundtable discussions centered on hot and controversial topics. It highlights point-counterpoint conversations between invited speakers and local hematologists, utilizing challenging clinical cases and questions to drive the educational experience in the evolving landscape of multiple myeloma.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Evaluate current diagnostic testing, minimal residual disease (MRD) testing, and new risk stratification models for multiple myeloma.

Determine optimal management strategies for Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (SMM) and Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma (NDMM), differentiating between transplant-eligible and non-eligible patients.

Design effective sequencing strategies for relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) and incorporate novel immunotherapies, including CAR T cells and bispecific T cell engagers.

Manage myeloma-related complications effectively, particularly bone disease, renal failure, and treatment-related infections.

Formulate treatment plans for challenging clinical scenarios, such as extramedullary disease, plasma cell leukemia, patient frailty, and relapse after T cell-redirected therapies.

Address and manage other plasma cell disorders, specifically Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia and AL Amyloidosis.
